the gramma police

improvized comedy

The Gramma Police is an improv comedy troupe based in Iowa City, IA. Formed in September of 2002, the troupe strives to push the limits of humor. Routine, game-based, structured improv can get old. The Gramma Police is interested in bringing the audience something that is fresh and new, not to mention funny.

"We want to take the envelope that is improv comedy, and we aren't going to address the envelope. We're not going to even stamp it, either. What we want to do is take that improv envelope and rip into a thousand pieces and then meticulously use glues and tape to put the envelope back together, and THEN put too much postage on it. Except! We are going to do all that on stage!"
